Weight Data Tool by TGM Lightweight Solutions GmbH

Manage and Forecast Vehicle Weight to Derive the Best Configuration for your Project

The Weight Data Tool maps the whole weight management for vehicles with multiple articulations and is mostly used for light rail vehicle projects. All key processes from project initiation such as early-phase design and bid support, project execution especially risk management and load calculation, project steering, and tracking of key performance indicators as well as reporting are integrated to streamline your vehicle development process.

Vehicle models can be derived from existing projects or built up with help of the component library. With the calculation functions, WDT shows the mass properties and computes based on a fully parameterized 3D finite-element algorithm, the loads on axles, wheels, and bogies as well as joint forces and secondary suspension loads for vehicles. It can also be used to calculate the lifting scenarios and deliver input for stiffness simulations.

All different variants are managed and compared within the tool. It provides the predicted mass, center of gravity distributions, and moments of inertia and takes tolerances and risk management into account creating a better forecast of the vehicle's weight.

All results are shown in various dashboards within the tool allowing to track the development of specific values over time. Individually designed reports from this data can be created automatically and exported.

Why Weight Data Tool?

Manage Vehicle Masses Efficiently

WDT allows you to estimate and steer your vehicle's weight right from the beginning of your project and provides automatic reports.

Derive New Variants

With WDT you can easily derive new vehicles concepts based on your previous projects without the risk of wrong Excel sheets.

Calculate Loads of your Vehicle

WDT calculates and reports the loads according to the common standards.

Key Features

Model Vehicles

Based on existing project data or new designs, a railway vehicle can be modeled to provide an overview of the mass properties and loads.
